Made a few changes to CTWF, just a few things I've been meaning to do for a while.
Couldn't get in touch with wrtlprnft, feel free to revert/modify.
Btw, love the new force map feature.
Maps moved to round 13 (effectively removed):
Octagon Fortress - just not crazy enough.
Pentastyle - Too reliant on the guy closest to the home base to defend. If he's new, your team is often screwed. Kyle, if you want to modify the map so this doesn't happen, be my guest. I'll have no objections to a modified version going back up.
Modified Maps:
Metal Slug - took shooting off. In my opinion, shooting maps don't work when there is no barrier between the 2 teams. Too many initial kills before you have a chance to react.
I made a couple of small changes to Windjammers and Ghosts and Goblins settings, nothing major.
New Maps:
Octa Gone Loopy in Nanoland - as the name suggests.
Shooting - Magic Roundabout - A heavily modified version of old map magic roundabout, with shooting.
Love them or hate them? Opinions are always welcome. |

I was in the computer room in my school when I relplied to ed on IRC and got interrupted, wasn't even able to go /away again.
I put shooting on the metal slugs map because you get these little “corners” in the pillars to hide in, probably a bad idea. Maybe move the zones/spawn points so the teams don't face each other? |

I've updated the server pages with images of the latest maps.
If these's any images missing let me know and I will upload them.
wrtl, I just think Metal Slug works better as a standard map.
Ghost and Goblins is a bit lacking. maybe there should be a 3 zones per team, one in each end sector, make it a bit different. Then add shooting? |

i like the new maps, but the octa loopy in nano or watever its called is kinda wierd, u speed up like crazy from the arena walls making it nearly impossible to get into the little holes, i played once and ended up as the only player left within 5 seconds... |

i agree with 3dotty. and isnt nano mangle the same? only the middle players can defend. either take them both off or keep them both imo. |

I don't absolutely love the map, but it's ok with me and I haven't noticed much trouble when playing it…
I'll leave it to ed. |

Just my 2-bits... I'm starting to enjoy the Wild West Wild Fortress lately. Not because it is in the US and better ping, but because of all the maps that used to be on CTWF and some new ones that Ed didn't like. I like the wider variety. Nothing personal, Ed, I would just prefer all the maps be in CTWF, even the ones impossible to defend, just because it presents more variety and more challenge.
Speaking of which, Kyle made one that is on WWWF that IS impossible to defend (Nano Clover I think) because the tails are way too short. But, its still fun to try and block t he opponents and race around to get their zones quicker.
Perhaps you can add a rating system to your database and give it the ability to have higher preference for some over others, but still allow all of them to show up at times. Just a thought. |

Ok, it seems I'm alone in my assessment of Pentastyle Must've just had a couple of frustrating rounds there.
I'm happy to put it back. But how about putting a zone in each point of the star, the centre point one being a sumo. Much like pentagasm. This was the way Kyle originally wrote the map, the reason I changed it was that it was going up at the same time as pentagasm and I wanted to make them a bit different from one another.
And wargasm, what maps would you like to see back/on CTWF? I don't get to play much these days.
And I am very busy till well into the new year, so can't make any promises. I spend a lot of time testing/tweaking these maps before they go up.
Saying that, wrtlprnft is free to make any changes he likes to the place.
I may make changes to his work, as he does to mine. If people disagree with what we have done, we welcome your comments and will hopefully find a happy medium. |

Like I said... All of them. There isn't a map I've seen yet that sucks. Each one is unique and people come to create their own strategies for even the most ridiculous maps. Creating a strategy is half the fun. IMHO |

I highly doubt Ed will add them all back in. That was just my opinion. But, Pluto's Revenge is already on WWWF. |
