as the wingmen settings are now available we need to update some, if not all of the levels, especially team nano sumo
outsiders start far back and must be brought forward
also levels thate are nano have cycles too far apart |

You are right.
Trouble with the current system is the work involved updating a simple setting on a map.
Take a look at this thread here:
http://forums.armagetronad.net/viewtopic.php?t=7381
It is a far better system for map settings, changes can be made with the minimun of fuss.
Trouble is the time to set it up. I have none.
If someone wants to help me with this, I have a vision in my head of exactly how it will be. Let me know. |

not really that hard, just open make a new setting and done, but yes 80 maps is alot - 10 minutes if u are quick. most levels dont matter: here are the list of those that do though:
nano start too far apart
nano sumo needs to start same point
hexagonal triangles the spawns are too close together
others? |

The work needs doing is more about renaming all the maps.
They are currenty all under the "ed" header, and well, they're not all made by me.
I would like to go for a "ct" category for all maps. Within this there are subcategories:
octagon, hex, chico, fortress, sumo, dogfight, catfight, etc.
And, of course, all maps would have to be modified according to the new path.
I'm also thinking of a standard heading at the top of all maps, something like:
<!--- Crazy Tronners Map
Designed by: Kyle
Name: Death of Hex
Description: 6 axes Deathzone Mayhem
License: Do with it what you like -->
Then comes the settings, yes, they will need adding to a mysql table - wrtl has already done this, but when we change all the names, the table will need modifying accordingly.
And then the table we currently use to switch maps will need updating with all the new names.
So, a fair bit of work then. |
