well i think we trained the last bunch of n00bs or they left
now we have another big sets of noob any ideas on what we can do with them

In the armagetronad forum is/was a thread about some players being coaches for the noobs. So if you would be a noob, I could say:" Hey, I would like to train this noob". Well, I havent seen a coach yet.

I would love to host a noob server that has different maps that just teach the basics and tricks. It could rotate through a series of fun examples that teach the noobs one step at a time. I can't host the server, but I could help create the maps.

yeah, I think this was mentioned before. A vote to kick to spectate instead of ban. I agree with the theory.

but votes are always screwed up.

new people, even people i am friendly with do not listen to me when i say kick so and so they tk etc. people like fish or manta.

we need to give specific people the power to spectate other users who are noobs. The more people the higher the risk of misuse but the more efficient the system.

how about all of cters (full or ctt?) and specific people who play the server alot, like the people on top of the ladder? three dot plays alot so he would be able to spectate many noobs and teach em how to play

polls are too slow and inefficient, and until a better polling system can be made, it will be hard to do this. a

(??? example syl would be for me, as my name contains SYL - basically like the /msg system) would be an excellent choice to use.

they need to have a server admin that can do anything that they have

they also need a moderator who can allow players to be spectators and stuff

if i ever get my comp set up for development i'll look into this along with 3d map making

I also try to teach noobs, it's better to say something like: "Grinding means to drive close to another wall" then just shout: "Nongrinder!" and start a vote. But the problem 3dot mentioned is stupid. If the noob just dont listen to you and dont respond on things like:"To chat, press c, say something!". If this happens, I guess there's no other way then kicking. But if someone doesn't speak english, you're screwed. But maybe you're lucky as 3dot, and there's someone who can speak a language the noob understands.

i try to teache them but if it take 3-4 times then i kick them. if there is only 1 n00b an the server i do not mind teaching theb but when there are 5 then its harder

thats why everyone should speak one language or more ( imagine everyone in the world spoke fluent english - paradise!) however that is the ideal world.

as far as things go, those people are a minority and spoil things for the rest of us. this is a harsh and communist viewpoint, but if that spectate option was put into place, then trouble would be less. Also if aa made the ability to change maps offline more easy, then more noobs would play offline. as it is it is difficult, and that is the reason i didnt play offline when i was a noob. i didnt know what rubber was and i thought ping let u grind close to walls (the only variable from offline and online as far as i could see)

oh and kyle dont make 3d cos it spoil the game - in tron (the movie) it is 2d so dont make stranger

3d would add a lot more fun and beter maps

Instead of, or in addition to, 3D. A simple thing that could be added would be a instantaneous relocation within the game grind. Drive through a teleporter and instantly reappear at the paired teleporter location, and vice versa.

Just an idea.

actually that’s the only type i make there just not as long

warg i already mentioned that (and 3d kyle remember?) but there are too many problems.

it would generate lots of lag for somone teleporting, as the cycle relocates they might just crash into a nearby wall

it would be very easy to kill, by just surrounding the tele zone until some idiot went through

where in the zone would u reappear? which direction would u face?

could the zone handle more than one person at a time?

if u teleported through a dz would it kill you?
