Our lightcycles have been shining beams of light on the grid for over seven years. This day marks marks the 7th year that we've been grinding light on this forum. Originally we had a Google group that then switch to a Yahoo group and then we moved here. Of course these forums once where pointed to by plantpeanuts.co.uk and they've been located on several different machines, but it has remained the same basic framework.
As we started CTWF only had 10 maps, if that. I still remember testing Chico's Eye with Ed, Not many people, have really seen what CTWF map testing is like. It is kind of a fun experience as settings are tweaked based on what the players think. But Chico's Eye is probably the map that brought me closest to CT. It was the first brake boost map on CTWF and inspired me to make Chico's Clover. Chico's Clover was a hard map to make for a beginner, So I had to start with something simple, Hexagonal Triangles.
Over the years all of us at CT have gained friends, allies within this clan and the community. We've shared defeats and wins amongst us. We have pranked one another, even on the Spanish April fools day. We had both MB53 and theroze that really had them upset and confused. I sent out several PM's just to plan the prank on MB53 about him not being able to be a senior member. Even once he had the Senior tag is was still a bit of a prank as his is the same color as the junior tag, it took him time to notice that.
We've also been involved with the game and community by innovation. Voodoo and I (mainly Voodoo) picked up the code that groundpig left and took it to a new level. We've added new settings, zones, ladderlog events. With all of this, sty+ct is the most used server binary in the game. We've developed maps and servers A map that I made that is split into 4 areas and the only way to get to the other areas are teleportation zones. The long trial sumo map with zombies and shooting that is still on CTWF as a tie breaker round. We've had 3 team fortress, mayhem and open sumo. All our server we could control on IRC at one time. We even had our own authentication system before armagetron had authentication. We even had tournament servers that if you where locked out of them you could send a message to them from the website. Not to mention the random deathzones that started shooting at people to end the game.
Overall here is a list of all the players we've had on our team. Thanks to orly?
Let us continue to light up the grid for years to come.
