Well, it's complete. Aside from a little tinkering needed with settings.
All maps and settings, including stage settings are now being read from a mysql database.
A couple of perl scripts are doing the job of map/setting/stage rotation.
You want say I rename it Crazy Tronners Wild Mayhem (or CTW Survival perhaps), or should I take it down? It's not that busy, but I do get positive responses from most people who play there. I put it up as an experiment really, to see if I could get it to do what it does, it seems I could (with a little help from wrtlprnft along the way, thanks).
My original plan was to use the stages on Wild fortress, instead of having a deathzone after a time of inactivety, have the settings change, making life a lot more interesting for the attackers/defenders left on the grid.
In theory this could be accomplished very easily, but the time involved to come up with different settings for each round would be huge. And would it make a great difference anyhow? |
