i think "center splits right" is an atavism from basic fortress maps, its of little value on ctwf
indeed many maps are constructed in a way that splitting left is more usefull because it breaks the main direction of the enemy
but also it depends on how tight people grind - if they are faster on right side why brake this down because of a silly outdated rule
and finally center happens to move inside the grind to close the distance to bad grinders, he falls back and needs to choose the side where there is more space (if any)
plus it can happen too that on left side is the weaker grind of the enemy (especially if their center is slow) then u should split left side and lead the attack to this weak side
i suggest the rule: "center splits to the side where there is more space" (for the thumb)
so if anybody on pos2 sees he's falling back compared to pos3, he should prepare to a leftsplit
