Unfortunately, the OVH TSP FR server sucked in Ladle 32. My apologies for a lack of foresight to have seen the problem. For the record, I did make sure that before the ladle started, no other gameserver was running. Of course, when I purchased, and then upgraded this server, I forgot the basic rule of Armagetron Server hosting: Armagetron Hosting is something that is more Processor bound. Even after having upgraded my OVH RPS from an RPS II to an RPS III, which gave it a dual core processor, it still sucked!
However, I have been researching an alternative. XEN. I have picked up a XEN server and am testing it for suitability for Armagetron. Webmasters have said that Xen is very similar to having a decent dedicated server, because as a hypervisor, you get dedicated set of hardware resources. So, I spent some time talking to some server owners that use XEN. I have found that a not oversold OpenVZ VPS can be fine for many types of Armagetron servers. However, Xen seems to have yielded up better performing servers. So, I read through a manual on how to setup XEN, to get the idea of how it works. I also spent about 5 hours wading through forum posts by webmasters on the issue. It all seems to point to a lot better performance. Given that, I am moving all TheServerPharm Servers off of OVH and OpenVZ servers. I have already rented one based in the UK. I will be coming into the game to get better load testing done.
Did anyone else complain about it besides me? I mean, I found it unplayable, but I couldn't tell if it was the server or my connection to it. Most of my team was affected though.
i had slides in the final yeah, also xyron xonnection was totally fucked, and i heard puu complained about slides too... but nvm, it worked, i mean, could be worse, np man

When I checked the server stats for the darned thing, it shows that the server was getting overwhelmed. This is why I have decided to replace it. I have only in the last 2 weeks become aware of the advantages of Xen servers. This is why I have already begun the process of moving all my servers to an improved hosting situation. Only in the last 2 months has such a solution begun to be offered at prices that are not ridiculous. I will try to get a good thorough test of the servers in question. My apologies again for the crappy performance...I am just glad that CT had a European alternative that worked.
we use xen for years now. it's ok. problem is the official xen builds are based on a middle age linux kernel. watch out which distro you'll use so take care you're up to date with newer kernels. I prefer gentoo which compiles them all specifically to my hardware and keeps me up to date.
arma doesn't seem to take big advantage in multicores yet. more MHz helps much more than more cores.

but I live in paris (the server is in roubaix iirc) and I have a 60M connection... that may explain a part of it... but I should have felt the problem if it was server-side...
