Well, i only play for few months so i don't know if this ideas have already been discused, but i thought about something:

On regular fort, if it's 1 vs 1 left and def is well set up, they are both good enough and none makes a mistake or a very good move it goes until dzs appear (which i honestly consider not a glorious finish ) and moreover people may get bored (i saw very many comments in such situations like "bored to death", "zzzzz", even from one of those 2 who were playing).

So, i thought about 2 alternatives if 1 vs 1 left:
1. server waits only 1 minute starting that moment before dzs.
2. both zones go to center and it goes to sumo (like in flower power) after a short period of time, too.

The end on bugfarm is flying deathzones... another way to finish.
about others servers, i don't think CT can do much, myabe you should suggest that on armagetron forums.
but i agree with you, boring and non-glorious end aren't cool.

indeed, i forgot to mention, flyind dzs it's the best option i found so far on the servers

just remove DZs altogether.


Or a more clever way to have a DZ, would be multiple ones that close in on the defense, so the last place to get hit by it, would be right in the middle of the def. But that would favour a good defender...

Or, 1 min after it goes 1 vs 1, do the speed up thing that was on that old server. skill is then needed and it's not boring at all.
